Big Ass Fans in The Swamp

A Sticky Situation

The hot and humid climate in Gainesville, Florida proves dangerous for athletes and spectators alike. While players are kept comfortable and hydrated with misting stations and all-you-can-drink Gatorade®, many of their supporters at Ben Griffin Stadium are left with minimal natural air movement. With University of Florida game-day temperatures regularly reaching 100 degrees or higher, Gators fans were uncomfortable and susceptible to heat-related illness.

A Big Improvement

16- and 20-ft. diameter Powerfoil® fans from Big Ass Fans, custom powder coated in Gator orange and blue.

Off-Field Success

Providing more air movement than dozens of small ceiling or pedestal fans, the Powerfoil fans cool the thousands of sweaty spectators moving throughout the concourse. The fans’ patented airfoil design distributes gentle columns of air over large spaces, creating a cooling effect and a welcome reprieve from the heat. In fact, the fans move so much air that the breezes spill into a portion of the adjacent south end zone seating area.
