We have designed, engineered, built, sold and installed over 35,000 fans in dozens of different applications all over the world. No one knows more about this stuff than we do. Led by world-renowned architectural aerodynamics expert Dr. Richard Aynsley, Big Ass Fans' dedicated team of engineers rigorously design and test every fan we build to ensure they are the most effective and reliable fans you can buy. Our newest innovation, Powerfoil X™, is a testament to this with a thorough 10 year warranty.

Humble Beginnings

We started in 1999 as the humble HVLS Fan Company. As each new fan was installed we couldn't help but overhear our customers affirm that yes, indeed, it was a big ass fan. It didn't take long for us to embrace the quirky name and become The Big Ass Fan Company.

Naturally, our mascot Fanny the donkey arrived on the scene and found herself plastered on everything from hats, t-shirts, buildings, and squeeze toys to the inevitable whoopee cushion. Seeing an opportunity to help, we have since donated all merchandise-related proceeds to the non-profit Longhopes Donkey Shelter rescue in Bennett, Colorado.
