  • SmartSense (Primary Control)Primary fan control for completely automated fan operation. Featuring three user user modes — winter, summer and manual — SmartSense eliminates human error and the hassle of fan operation by automatically matching the speed of your Big Ass Fans to seasonal conditions.
  • Auxiliary ControllerAuxiliary wall-mounted digital keypad with touch controls and an LED display to control the fan’s direction, operation, speed and programming. In the unlikely event that there’s a problem, the wall controller is equipped with a simple diagnostic program to identify, troubleshoot and reprogram faults in the system. Communication between the fan’s variable speed drive (VFD) and wall controller is by a standard CAT5 (or higher) Ethernet cable, which comes standard with 150-ft of factory-assembled cable.An unlimited number of fans can be daisy chained together and operated at the same speeds.
  • Fire control panel integrationIncludes a 10-30 VDC pilot relay for seamless fire control panel integration. The pilot relay can be wired Normally Open or Normally Closed.

The wall controller remains active as a display so fault messages can be viewed and toggling between output frequency and fan RPM displays can be performed.A purpose-built BACnet adapter is available that includes the following features:
    Multiple fan control from a single adaptor node for easy installation and integration
    Factory programmed to automatically detect Big Ass Fans equipment from Modbus inputs on the fan.

  • Wall controllerWall mount VFD (standard): A factory-programmed variable speed drive (VFD) with touchpad controls and an LED display for controlling the fan’s direction, operation, speed and programming. Equipped with a simple diagnostic program to identify, troubleshoot and reprogram faults in the system.Wall mounted keypad (optional): The onboard VFD package includes a simple hardware kit that mounts the VFD to the fan.   • Wall controllerThe wall controller mounts to a standard electrical box and includes a display for controlling the fan’s power and speed. Communication with the fan’s drive and controller is by a standard line voltage cable that is field installed.
  • Fire control panel integrationIncludes a 10-30 VDC pilot relay for seamless fire control panel integration. The pilot relay can be wired Normally Open or Normally Closed.
  • Building Automation System integrationStarting, stopping and speed control duties are handled by distributed I/O using a 0-10 VDC interface module (sold separately), which will replace the fan’s original wall controller. The module is capable of controlling up to four fans.

Essence


  • Wall controllerWired wall controller (standard): Low-voltage wired wall controller provides control of all fan functions and is capable of mounting to a standard electrical box or directly to a wall surface. The wall controller includes a rotary-style dial for controlling the fan’s power and speed, and an LED light to identify and relay faults in the system. Communication with the fan drive and controller is by a standard, commercially available CAT-5 (or higher) Ethernet cable.Wireless wall controller (option). The optional radio frequency (RF) remote wall controller provides control of all fan functions and is capable of mounting to a standard electrical box with an owner-supplied wall plate. Communication with the fan drive and controller is wireless.

  • Haiku Wall Control (optional)Haiku Wall Control provides wireless control of up to seven Haiku Fans and Haiku Designer Series lights from a single physical control point. The wall control mounts to a standard outlet box and fits most Decora wall plates (not included).

    Haiku Wall Control allows users to adjust fan speed and light brightness and also features an occupancy sensor that directs Haiku products to turn on when users enter the room and off when they leave.

  • SenseME™Every Haiku H Series is equipped with occupancy, temperature and humidity sensors that allow the fan to respond automatically to changing room conditions, adjusting its speed to keep you comfortable and save energy year-round. Use the free Haiku Home mobile app (available for iOS and Android) to customize your comfort preferences and wirelessly adjust your fan’s settings.

    SenseME provides the following functions and settings:

  • 0-10 V Module (optional)Haiku L Series 0-10 V module makes it easy to integrate Haiku L Series with a home or building automation system or virtually any third-party 0-10 V dimmer using an industry-standard protocol. The module provides independent control of fan speeds and light intensity while supporting daisy-chaining for up to 10 fans. Voltage ranges from 0 and 10 VDC to produce varying fan speeds and lighting levels using the voltage “source” standard — 0 V as off and 10 V as 100% on.
