Big Ass Fans in Custom Vinyl
Problem
Custom Vinyl Products, Inc., manufacturers of custom and replacement windows recently moved its operations into a newly built, 40,000 sq ft facility to help streamline the manufacturing process by doubling production space. Building from scratch, the company installed four rooftop units to supply conditioned air to the space. In order to cut down costs from running rooftop units, Custom Vinyl needed an efficient way to circulate the air throughout the building without installing expensive ductwork.
Solution
Custom Vinyl was able to forego the expense of duct work and diffusers supplementing the cost of installing three 18-ft diameter Powerfoil X fans. The fans provide an energy efficient air movement system that works in tandem with the facility’s rooftop units providing proper air circulation to all employees. By circulating the air properly, the fans create uniform temperatures throughout the space, which decreases the load on the HVAC system and therefore saves the company money.
Results
Increased air circulation has helped to create a comfortable working environment for employees at Custom Vinyl year-round. Being in the business of helping homeowners make their homes more energy efficient, the company was able to put that knowledge and energy consciousness back into their facility. The use of the fans along with R19 insulation and fluorescent lighting have resulted in a significant decrease in utility costs, providing comfort and saving money for this growing manufacturing company.
