An Uncomfortable Problem

Bruce Brown, Owner and Operator of Lakeside Arena, needed an efficient way to improve indoor air quality and provide comfort for exhibitors, spectators and animals year-round. In the summer, Brown was experiencing unbearable temperatures and stuffy conditions. The noisy traditional fans were not only spooking the animals, but they were just not getting the job done. Brown also sought a solution for circulating hot air trapped at the ceiling down to occupant level in the winter.

Brown installed three 20-ft diameter Powerfoil® fans throughout Lakeside Arena.

Year-Round Results

Big Ass Fans have increased the efficiency of Lakeside Arena’s heating system in the winter while providing a cooling breeze in the summer. The fans make the facility and everyone inside it more comfortable. “I was not expecting it to be as dramatic an improvement in the conditions of the arena as far as comfort goes. Three fans in the building have made a huge difference from a standpoint of employee comfort. As a livestock facility they not only increase the comfort of the exhibitors but the animals as well,” said Brown.
