The Lexington-bred Big Ass Fan Company – never bashful about being in the spotlight – was featured on Friday, August 1st on Fox Business Network’s program “America’s Nightly Scoreboard”. Company president Carey Smith was interviewed by Fox Business Network anchor David Asman regarding the company’s growing success on both a national and international platform.
The discussion during the broadcast will included topics such as the growth of Big Ass Fans® in spite of a declining economy, the efficiency of the fans, instituting a unique company culture and of course, the company’s unusual name. Smith, when asked about the opportunity to go in front of a national audience, did not hide his enthusiasm. “It was a nice opportunity to tell people about the fans we manufacture,” he explains. “We’ve got a great company and an exceptional product, and I’m always ready to brag.”
The local business with national credibility first hit the scene in 1999 as the HVLS Fan Company. Since then, the company has had over 35,000 fan installations worldwide with a wide range of applications. Big Ass Fans’ extensive customer list is full of well-respected companies, including Coca-Cola®, Toyota® and Lowe’s®.
Originally designed for industrial and agricultural settings, Big Ass Fans has since expanded its product line to fit the needs of a variety of customers in commercial markets such as churches, restaurants and night clubs. Fitting the trend, the company’s latest innovation, Element™, will be featured on Planet Green’s environmentally focused program, Alter-Eco, on September 8th. Combining its sleek design with its high-performance, Element is unlike any other fan in the commercial market.
