Employees of The Big Ass Fan Company® are doing their part to help those devastated by the earthquake in Haiti by raising money through unconventional methods.
Numerous employee activities were held to raise money for Haitian relief efforts, including entry-fee game tournaments, a $1000 gas card raffle, an interesting donation competition between men and women at the company, and a general donation campaign. To make the events more interesting, the company provided matching on a 1:1 basis for all donations and all funds were donated directly to two charities- Doctors without Borders and Direct Relief International. As a result, over $8900 was raised and donated, significantly exceeding the $5000 goal set by the employees.
“The earthquake and ruin in Haiti is devastating, and when people are in need, we all band together to help as much as we can,” says Big Ass Fans President and Owner Carey Smith.
