“ The fans are awesome. They allow us to go the extra mile with the audience. Any way to keep them happy makes us happy. Kara Shepherd, Langley Properties
Whenever you have hundreds of people come together at an outdoor music venue on a summer evening, in a town where heat and humidity are more common than not, you’ve got a problem. Lakeside Live in Lexington, Kentucky is a popular free summer concert series on Friday and Saturday nights. But unless a cool breeze blew in, audience members had only paper fans to fight the heat. The event’s managers wanted a better way to make both audience and entertainers more comfortable.
Since two Black Jack mobile fans by Big Ass Fans made their debut, everyone at Lakeside Live has been singing a different tune. “They have been such a blessing,” says Kara Shepherd of Langley Properties, the organization that manages the event. “It’s so helpful to have air circulating. People keep telling us they’re thankful the fans are there.” Shepherd says the Black Jacks are quiet, easy to maneuver and easy to adjust for precisely the right airflow. And working with the company that makes Big Ass Fans? “It’s been such a breeze. I can’t say enough good things about it.”
